On its walls are glass photos reflecting the township’s rural, farming past, and more suburban present. When visitors enter the building through a large, central lobby they see more evidence of the blending of the old with the new. The goal was to blend the past, present, and future, said Caroline McKinney, the township’s director of economic development and spokeswoman. The building was designed to remind visitors of the nearby Hughes railroad station from the early 1900s. “This building is accessible to the public without compromising security,’’ Matacic said. That space is now known at the Liberty Township Meeting Center.įive years ago the township moved to rented space in the Liberty Towne Center. In 1995 the township bought a 4,000-square-foot former feed store and converted it into township offices and a Butler County Sheriff’s Office substation. The first offices were in a building that had been a school and is now the home of the Liberty Township Historical Society. ![]()
